Nick Baxter
Respiratory Protective Equipment Specialist - HSE
Nick is the Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) technical lead in HSE Science Division. He holds a BSc (Hons) Chemistry with Forensic Analysis and an MSc Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Science from Loughborough University. Nick has been working in RPE since 2006, leading incident investigations, HSE research, and representing HSE at stakeholder working groups.
Nick was heavily involved in HSE's COVID-19 pandemic response, providing guidance on RPE selection and fit testing to government departments and assessing PPE for NHS supply chains. He is chair of the UK standards committee for RPE and current Vice-President of the International Society for Respiratory Protection (ISRP), progressing to President in 2026.
Nick will be sharing his exerpertise and asking some important questions on RPE.
