Hello All – To follow up on the One Day Jobs query flagged a couple of years ago we still get reports of LARCs trying to complete one day jobs or three days into two days etc.
The result often being that the analyst is put under enormous pressure to stay late on the evening because the job “has to get done”.
Whether the LARC is your client, directly employed by the client or by you the pressure remains – especially if the work is in an occupied domestic property. Thorough planning and review of RAMS can help, but even then we can still end up in this situation.
Please do share your experiences and resolutions – good or bad!

One day AIB enclosures are our least favourite analytical work. Normally the LARC has two or three or maybe four enclosures on the go. Often these are very small with poor air change management, poor enclosure construction and stressed site supervisors. Likely to fail stage 2 and sometimes stage 3.
I am also concerned that there is a high risk of airborne fibre release from the removal process, certainly exceeding the control limit or most probably the STEL.
Can anyone share personal sampling data?
Surely it is time stop one day enclosures?

If all three parties involved planned the work better it should be easy to ensure the work is completed smoothly. However, this needs the client to play an active role and in most instances they just want the work completing as cheaply as possibly. Which is part of the problem!
