I’m just finishing my comments on the Analysts Guide but wanted to flag one of them here quickly. Paragraph 2.16. The blind re-checks of visual inspections is clearly going to cause issues between analytical organisations, clients and LARCs.
In my opinion, the Analytical company cannot be left to choose when to carry out the blind re-checks. There needs to be a clearly defined mechanism or process that dictates which enclosures are subject to the additional checks so that the LARC knows exactly when they are happening and can programme and cost accordingly. If the LARC was required to demonstrate that one in twenty of their notified jobs had been subject to the blind re-check this would remove all the uncertainty and take the pressure off the already overburdened Analyst. It would also ensure that all LARCs shared the burden equally.
Any thoughts welcome.
