I once was asked to re-visit a pub which has been surveyed by a a colleague on the South coast as they had come across a suspect asbestos product which was not in the survey report. Above the main pub was a large function room which had decorative ‘timber’ panelling round the entire room very similar in appearance to the photos shown.
It looked a lot like wood but was very cold to the touch and was very hard and brittle (as it had been broken by contractors). The product was asbestos cement and I think contained Chrysotile alone.
Very easy to miss unless you touch it….. Only seen once in 15 years!
