John began his career in the asbestos industry in 2002, working on-site in both surveying and analytical roles. Over the next decade, he developed a strong technical foundation and gained practical experience managing asbestos risks across a wide range of environments and client portfolios.
He later moved into roles across operations, sales, and contract management, supporting clients with complex and diverse estates. This has given him a well-rounded understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of asbestos management.
With 24 years in the industry, John is now the site asbestos manager at one of the UK’s largest NHS trusts, overseeing a major city-centre acute healthcare estate. He focuses on delivering practical, proportionate, and compliant asbestos management aligned with the demands of a busy healthcare setting, while also taking a strong interest in improving industry standards and consistency.
He holds P402, P404, P405, S301, and D417 asbestos qualifications, along with IOSH Managing Safely, and NHS-specific Essential for Estates (Health Care FM) qualification, and is an Associate Member of FAAM.
