Jean had a working life dominated by asbestos starting with an MSc Thesis in 1967, then R&D at Cape Asbestos Fibres Company.
After joining McCrone’s at the beginning of 1977, her career covered every possible aspect: research, teaching, microscopy, site work (from routine sampling and surveying to forensic type investigations).
Jean has also been called on to provide many varied expert witness appointments (criminal and civil, defence and prosecution).
After a long and varied career Jean is now enjoying her retirement.
