Asbestos May Be Two to Three Times More Deadly Than Previously Thought

A new study claims that as many as 90,730 deaths in the EU and United Kingdom, were linked to occupational asbestos in 2019.

An alarming number of new cases of asbestos related deaths are being diagnosed in younger people, and there is an uptrend in women suffering from its effects.

Multiple studies have found that the currently estimated number of deaths needs revising upwards sharply.

The new figures seem to indicate that exposure to asbestos may result in twice as many deaths as previously assumed.
